In Canada we call Family Law "FLAW" to describe our own experiences as dads. We have judges like Harvey Brownstone publishing books telling of his experiences with self litigants and the horrors going on. He touts the notion of the best interest of the child but most judges have been brainwashed by feminist propaganda the best interest of the child is with the mother. It has no bearing in reality or science. In fact science tells us the best interests of the child is to have both parents in the lives of the child. Anything less than 40% by either one has a negative impact. Family Court judges are just plain lazy and award custody in this country in disputed or undisputed cases in a 9-1 ratio to the mother. It is blatant unadulterated gender discrimination and needs to be challenged in whatever forum is available including the useless Canadian Human Rights Commission and the Provincial Human Rights Commission. The one in Ontario is headed by a feminist who also appears to have Marxist leanings by the name of Barbara Hall. In the latter case lets see if they have an answer for the lack of funding for Prostate Cancer Screening, no DV shelters for men and their children, and the bias in the Attorney General's office toward men. In the undisputed cases the very expensive and unhelpful lawyers for men hold a gun (metaphorically speaking) to the head of the dad and state - You don't have a hope in hell of getting custody, cut your losses and go for the standard 14% visitation. Before I decided I no longer wanted a lawyer the one I had recommended I put child support on the credit card cash advance feature - because I just had to pay it. She is saying this to a person who just produced a financial statement indicating I had negative cash flow. I was already living off the credit card and she wanted me to commit financial suicide by adding more to it at 28% interest per month. This is what 7 years of University training gets you - a feminist perspective in everything they do at a very high price. When she said that I clearly knew she had to go and within a week we parted company. The man in the following article from OZ is another victim of FLAW where unsubstantiated statements by a female can ruin a persons life. These judges are lazy and corrupted by feminist propaganda. It will all come home to roost someday given the groundswell being created due to these appalling decisions.MJM
Dad jailed over card
Sunday Herald-Sun (Melbourne, Australia)-

A MELBOURNE father of three has been jailed for sending a birthday card to his daughter.
The man ``Mick'' -- who cannot be identified for legal reasons -- was locked up in a suburban police station for seven nights and spent another in the tough Melbourne Custody Centre. He says he was surrounded by drug addicts and people charged with violent offences during his ordeal last month.
Mick claims he is a victim of a family law system that is biased against fathers. ``I was jailed for nine days and eight nights for sending my 11-year-old daughter a birthday card,'' he said. ``Apparently I broke an intervention order. It's ludicrous and it breaks your heart.''
The 51-year-old is estranged from his wife and claims she has brought a series of intervention orders against him, banning him from contact with his children, without any evidence. ``Until my wife divorced me I was a legally unimpeachable citizen -- now I'm being treated like a criminal just because I want some contact with my kids,'' Mick said yesterday. ``And that contact was ended arbitrarily without even a hearing or the presentation of evidence.
``In a court of law, if you are accused of something you are supposed to have the ability to cross examine your accusers and call witnesses. `In the secret chambers of the Family Court you are not guaranteed that at all.''
Mick says the experience has cost him $20,000 and his career as a writer. ``It's a plundering and looting exercise on the part of lawyers involved in this and there are no juries or scrutiny by media to keep them accountable,'' he said.
The Sunday Herald Sun was denied access to documents relating to Mick's case and lawyers for his estranged wife declined to be interviewed. Historian and academic Prof John Hirst this week called for an overhaul of family law. ``The court is not enforcing its decisions, the costs of going to court are onerous and there is little public accountability,'' he said.
