I have met and heard the tragic stories of many parents. PA is a function, by and large, of a custodial ex-partner, although some alienation can start while the couple is still together.

This blog is a story of experiences and observations of dysfunctional Family Law (FLAW), an arena pitting parent against parent, with children as the prize. Due to the gender bias in Family Law, that I have observed, this Blog has evolved from a focus solely on PA to one of the broader Family/Children's Rights area and the impact of Feminist mythology on Canadian Jurisprudence and the Divorce Industry.

Mr. Tony Martin, MP for Sault Ste., Marie, ON ~ Where are you?

(ED note: Mr. Martin read my letter and called me on July 18, 2008 stating he would not second the motion but has an open mind on the vote. He wants to see how the debate goes in parliament and then will decide based on the information presented. He has an open mind on the merits of the motion.)

Mr. Tony Martin
369 Queen Street East, Suite 100
Sault Ste Marie, Ontario P6A 1Z4 (via fax 941-2903)

Dear Mr. Martin:

Re: Mr. Vallecott's Motion M-483

I note your name hasn't shown up, as yet, as a seconder to Mr. Vallecott's motion M-483 with respect to equal parenting as follows: —

That, in the opinion of the House, the government should propose amendments to the Divorce Act so that law and practice ensure due process protection of rights and equality of parents, and to ensure that children benefit from equal parenting from both their mother and their father, after separation or divorce.

To do so, I believe you are already aware, it simply involves submitting a signed letter to the Journals Branch at the House of Commons at 140 North, Centre Block, which states:

""Please put my name down as Jointly Seconding Motion M-483." Once done it only takes one or two days for your name to appear on the list. You would do us proud to support this motion and I will watch with interest to see how it unfolds. If you have reservations can we meet to discuss them?
  • Do you support Equal Parenting in principle?
  • If not willing to second, will you vote in support of M-483?
  • If you are undecided or uncertain, what additional information would you like?
  • If you are opposed, on what grounds?
I will be away until early August but would like to meet with you to discuss it further.

Yours truly

Michael J. Murphy
